Fill in the Blank Friday!

Happy Friday ya'll! I hope ya'll have wonderful things planned for this weekend.

1. The last thing I ate was strawberries.

2. The last song I listened to was...that's a good question. I didn't listen to music today (it's been an off day). Although I did have "The Cave" by Mumford and Sons stuck in my head.

3. Using the letters in my name I can spell {Elyse}...Seely, Eels, Yes, Eyes...my brain isn't working today.

4. If I had to dress in one color for the rest of my life I would pick blue. I already have a lot of it in my closet. You can pretty much match it with anything.

5. If you were to look in my bag right now you'd find a bazillion things of chapstick, my wallet, medicine, a book, pens, a sticky note with reminders and one with song lyrics.

6. When I finish filling in the blanks I'm going to read some of my book and go to bed. Can you tell I cheated and I'm doing this on Thursday night instead of Friday?

7. My all time favorite song to dance to is...oh holy crow how am I supposed to choose? I dance to anything and everything! I love dancing to The Beastie Boy's "Brass Monkey", Elvis's "A Little Less Conversation", David Bowie's "Golden Years", basically anything from Katy Perry. Goodness, I could go on, and on.

It's that time of the week again...

Happy Friday everyone! If you want to play along, don't forget to link up with Lauren's blog.

1. The best thing I did all week was watch Castle with Dawn this Monday. It was so much fun to have somebody to fangirl with. I forever owe her for getting me hooked on this show.

2. Movie marathons are the best. Especially when you theme food and decor around them. (I.E. This Post)

3. Pets are amazing. They fill your heart with so much warmth and love. I still haven't completely gotten over losing my beloved, Patches, earlier this year. But one day, I'd like to have another dog.

4. My family and friends are the best thing about my life. I know this is a stereotypical answer, but it's the truth. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I'm nothing without them.

5. With the cooler weather I am looking forward to hoodies! I absolutely love hoodies and own way too many of them. There is nothing better than lounging around in a wonderful hoodie.

6. Something that's on my "wish list" right now is confidence and to stop worrying so much. I can give you a list of material items that I'd like at the moment, but these top even those material wants.

7. This weekend I am going to be doing homework. I'm also going to skype with my Mama so I can tell her happy birthday "in person". Saturday I'm going to my friend's cookout. I'm pretty excited. Yay for the weekend.

PS...I have this song in my head at the moment. It's old, but it's kind of relevant at the moment.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

It's a little late in the day, but it's still Friday...so here we go!

1. You should always take time to enjoy the little things...even if it is just a strawberry limeade before class, or stopping in a book store just for the smell of it. Random examples, but it is the little moments in life that are often forgotten. I try my best to remember to enjoy them.

2. Books make the world a happier place to be. There is nothing better than a good book.

3. I can hardly wait for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to go home and see my family and meet one of my bestie's new little boy.

4. Friday is my favorite day of the week. Currently I have Fridays off of school and work. So it is my me day. I love it.

5. Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is the "Party Rock Anthem" music video. I totally want to learn the dance. I'm stealing Lauren's answer for this. I sent out this video to my friends, insisting that we must learn it for our girl's night. They didn't go along with it.

6. If I could, I would hire a laundress to do all my laundry. I totally stole this answer from Lauren, again, but I couldn't help it. I hate dragging my laundry down seven floors to do it.

7. I rather like nicknames. I think they're a lot of fun. I also feel like a nickname has to be earned, and I love when I'm given one.

PS: If you want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog!

Also, this video was too good not to share. Thanks for sharing this with me, Jess.

Happy Friday!

It's that time of the week again. It's Fill in the Blank Friday! I've been severely neglecting my blog...the first 2 weeks back in Missouri and I've been keeping busy. Plus I've been super lame and have been falling asleep at 8:30/9 every night. Don't' worry friends though, I shall return to my normal night owlness soon. Anyways without any further ado...

Picture via

1. One of life's most simple pleasures is the smell of a new book. It's such a lovely smell. I also love the laugh of a small child. It's pure delight.

2. When people speak down to me because of my age, it really makes me want to punch someone.

3. I like the smell of carbon paper because, it reminds me of going to the Delta Jet Base with my Daddy O when I was little.

4. Dawn is a funny word. Apparently with my southerness and all, I don't pronounce it correctly.

5. If I had to choose one beauty product to use for the rest of eternity it would be mascara. Hands down.

6. I'm happy that I survived my first week back at school. Yay for the weekend.

7. I would never intentionally be mean to someone. Sometimes people don't understand my sarcasm. If I accidentally hurt your feelings I beat myelf up over it.

If you want to play along, make sure you link up at the lovely Lauren's blog.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

It's been a while since I've done a FITBF and I've missed it so! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday and has wonderful plans for the weekend.

1. My go to outfit for a dress-up occasion like a wedding is a June Cleaver type dress. I wore the most amazing one to my cousin's wedding and I looked like I stepped out of the 1950s. I love anything with a throwback look.

2. This week has flown by. I'm not ready to head back to St. Louis next Friday. Can't I just stay in Georgia forever?

3. When it's dinnertime and I'm feeling lazy I make breakfast for dinner. This usually includes eggs and grits, or pancakes.

4. My favorite pair of shoes is currently my zebra printed pair of Sanuks sidewalk surfers. They're super comfortable.

5. A random item that I own that is completely unnecessary, but that I could never part with are my stuffed animals from when I was little. I have memories attached to each one.

6. My favorite person is ... well I can't choose on this one. It's like asking to choose for me to choose between an icee or a banana milkshake.

7. If I were going to write my own blank it would say "What are you excited for this weekend?" and my answer would be...visiting my cousin in Charleston, SC.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

It's Friday! YAY! Hopefully I will be in Washington DC in a couple hours hanging out with my lovely cousin, Laura. I'm so excited. In lieu of getting ready, I'm actually doing this. I'm a perpetual dawdler.

1. The last movie I saw was Midnight In Paris. I've got Dali in my head saying "rhinoceros".

2. I want to learn how to stop worrying. It's hard and the harder I try, the more I worry.

3. Surprises are okay. I don't really like them. I like planning surprises, but I don't like people surprising me.

4. The best accessory is a good pair of shoes. And I don't mean a nice pair of heels. I mean, cute, comfy shoes. If shoes aren't comfy, it ruins my day.

5. My favorite warm drink is apple cider. I even love the instant apple cider.

6. My favorite cold drink is a Coke Icee. Yum! Can't wait to go home for the summer and get my fix of Racetrac Coke Icees.

7. Currently loving Katy Perry. I've always loved her, but I'm on a high after going to her concert. Seriously ya'll, she is amazing. Stay tuned for a post...

I hope ya'll have a lovely weekend! If you want to play along, make sure you link up here. And a special little shout out to my new followers! ::waveshello::

PS: I leave ya'll with what is currently making me happy/sad/nostalgic...enjoy!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

It's that time of the week again! If you want to play along, make sure you link up with the lovely Lauren's blog.

1. This weekend I'm going to play whirley ball with Kristina and some friends for her birthday and I'm excited to see how big of a fool I make out of myself.

2. My last vacation was going to San Diego in May.

3. My next vacation will be either visiting Washington DC next weekend (I'm hoping it works out) or going to Philly in July.

4. My favorite way to relax is with a good book by the pool. The combination of the two makes for a very happy Elyse.

5. When vacationing one should always leave room for randomness. I love finding little quirky places to go. Vacation shouldn't be rushed, it should be leisurely.

6. When vacationing one should never count calories. It's bad for the soul or something. Okay I stole this one from Lauren because it's too perfect.

7. The best part about a vacation is how you get to leave your regular life for a while. It's nice to have an escape.

PS: I'm leaving you with Katy Perry singing "Friday". This isn't from the concert I went to. Apparently I was too excited to hold my camera straight that night. More on that later...

Fill in the Blank Friday!

So it's been a while since I've done one of these...if you want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog :D

I hope ya'll are having an amazing Friday and have a spectacular weekend!

1. I love Coke icees because...do I really need a reason? I mean they're a frozen version of Coke. And a 32 oz at Racetrak is $1.27. Seriously! That's cheap! I can afford to drink one every day.

2. A time that mama knew best was well, I am not sure. I'm an only child so I feel like I've always known her. Growing up she was always the perfect combination of mother and friend, and she still is.

3. My first kiss went a little like this ... well I wish I could answer this one, but honestly I can't. I'm 23 (almost 24) and I've never been kissed ::cringe::

4. My celebrity crush is oh, don't make me choose! I have so many of them. I did a post about it a while ago and I think they're still pretty true to my crushes. Just to name a few Rupert Grint, Rob, Tom Sturridge and David Tennant.

5. My splurge of choice would probably be on music. I'll buy albums upon albums and then go on a rampage and end up buying tons of concert tickets. Costly, but the memories are worth it.

6. My biggest accomplishment is moving to a far away city, all by myself. It's been quite the adventure with ups and downs, but I did it!

7. My dance jam of choice is oh, yet another one for me to be indecisive about! "Brass Monkey" is always a good one. So is Elvis's "A Little Less Conversation". At weddings I will be first in line when Cupid Shuffle comes on (don't judge). I'm always dancing...I never can sit still when there's music on.

Fill in the blank Friday!

It's been a while since I've played along and I've really missed it. This Friday is a little bittersweet because it marks the end of Spring Break and my time back at home. But on the up side it is the beginning of April and there is barely a month left of school! Wooo hooo!

1. The best prank I ever pulled was oh goodness...I'm so horrible at pranks. The other day though, I did manage to put five french fries and a sweet n' low in the back of my bestie Lauren's hoodie. It was great. One even fell out and I managed to convince her it had fallen from the ceiling where I had been throwing them before. I think it's sad that people would think I'd actually do something like that...hehe.

2. The best prank ever pulled on me was nothing. I don't think anyone has ever really pulled a prank on me. Haha, that just means I'm asking for it.

3. A day without a good attitude is a day wasted. This seems like a cheesy answer, but I don't like it when I waste a day being in a foul mood.

4. The most important things in life are free. Seriously. Family and friends don't cost a dime and they're the people I couldn't survive without.

5. I dream of one day of getting married and having a family. It'll happen some day, eventually...right?

6. I dread waking up when I don't have enough sleep. I also dread failure. And the idea that I'm not liked by people.

7. A discovery I made this week was that the Margaret Mitchell House museum is technically not a house, but an apartment building. She lived on the bottom floor in a teenie apartment. It should be called the Margaret Mitchell apartment building.

I hope ya'll have an amazing, fun filled Friday! If you want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog :)

TGIF!

1. The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is ellipses. I love them. I'm not sure when my obsession began, but they're definitely overused in my typing.

2. Today I am thankful it is Friday. I'm so happy that I get to sleep in tomorrow morning.

3. My best friend isn't just one person. I've got a handful of best friends. I love them all and couldn't live without them. They definitely keep me sane.

4. A quirky thing about me is oh goodness...what isn't quirky about me? I have an obsession with even numbers, I'm double jointed almost everywhere (especially in my feet), I don't like my food to touch.

5. This weekend I am going to sleep in, do homework, work on some posts, have some long overdue skype dates, do some "fun" reading, and just generally take it easy.

6. Something that worries me is what people think of me. It's a constant worry that I can't be myself around certain people because of the fear of rejection.

7. On my night stand you would find my glasses and case, alarm clock, lamp, box of tissues, UGA journal where I keep all my lists, hair clip, bracelet, coaster, Diet Coke, my little manicure set, contacts, and Bare Minerals and my MAC blush (I'm dawdling and doing this while I'm supposed to be getting ready for work).

If ya'll decide to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog!

TGIF!

This week has been one of those where you just want to hide under the rock. I really do thank God that it is Friday, because I've been struggling to finally get to the weekend!

1. The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is I'm not embarrassed by anything I watch or read. That's one thing I'm not ashamed of. I love finding people who read the same trashy magazines as I do and who share a love for cheesy British sci fi.

2. An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far to much to throw away is well, I don' have them anymore, but it was a pair of moccasins. I wore those suckers to death. I even kept them after my big toe went through the bottom of them. Sadly, I realized I couldn't get the sole repaired and threw them out after hanging on to them for a couple of years.

3. My grocery store impulse buy is orange tic tacs. I can eat the entire thing in one gulp...they're so good. Oh and the fruity mentos too.

4. Something I do at work to pass time that I wouldn't want my co-workers to know about is well, I work in a small space so they pretty much know my every move. But usually I write a million sticky notes of things I should do, but know I never will.

5. One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is my television. I've recently learned that I can live without it. My tv broke this Monday and all I get is the sound. It's been nice, not getting distracted, however I miss it. So I'll never give it up.

6. A little indulgence that I have is a really good book. You can never have too many of those.

7. The junk drawer/area in my house is the right cabinet in my entertainment center.

It's Friday!!

It's Fill in the Blank Friday! I love doing these before I go to work. It gives me a good start to the day. If you decide to play along, go to Lauren's blog and link up :)
Picture Via...

1. If my house was on fire and I could only grab 3 things I'd grab my teddy bear that I've had since I was three (Cherry), my purse, and probably my little travel pillow. I'm sure I'd grab my lap top too if I got to have a fourth item.

2. A smell I really like is my mom's spaghetti when it's cooking, cinnamon, lavender, and fresh laundry.

3. Something you might not know about me is that I'm kind of athletic, despite being so stinkin' uncoordinated. I did tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, and played softball, volleyball, and basketball.

4. Some of my favorite websites to putter about on are etsy, ebay, the many blogs that I'm in love with, my life is average, post secret...

5. This weekend I will be catching up on some homework. I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I also plan on reading some "fun" books too.

6. Nothing makes me happier than talking to my parents. It's an instant feeling of love and makes me get the warm fuzzies.

7. A bad habit I have is playing with my hair a lot. I tend to run my fingers through it a lot (or at least I'm told). I'm also a huge worrier. I worry that I'm supposed to be worrying about something, but I'm not. Haha, it's a vicious cycle.

It's that time of the week...

It's my favorite time of the week. Make sure you go to Lauren's blog and link up if you play along.

1. My favorite quote is...oh goodness gracious, I have to pick just one? A recent favorite is from Dr. Seuss : "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

2. A bad habit I have is giggling when it's inappropriate. Apparently I also play with my hair, on a KStew level of proportion. I also worry way too much.

3. The first time I felt like a "grown up" when I finally got to fly from Atlanta to Philadelphia all by my lonesome.

4. Weekends are stressful. Yes I can choose to stay in my pjs, but it's also when I get the most of my homework accomplished.

5. When I was a child I had a teddy bear named Cherry. Cherry was saved from the rejects pile at the mall that were ready to be thrown away. I loved that bear to no end. Cherry survived many tragic incidents...such as getting run over by a train in Colorado. I'm not ashamed to admit that Cherry still sits on my bed.

6. I wish I happy with myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

7. A secret I have is that I'm afraid that I'll never find Mr. Right and die alone. Being alone scares me more than anything.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

It's that time of the week again. I've missed doing this the past couple of weeks. If you want to play along go to Lauren's blog and link up.

1. I feel happy when I finish a really good book, when my Daddy O calls me from work in the morning to tell me good morning, my goodnight conversation with my Mama, the random conversations that I have with my friends, and when I'm snuggled up in my bed with my heated mattress pad on and getting to wake up on my own terms (not the alarm clock's).

2. I get silly when I'm around my family and friends...so basically all the stinkin' time. It gets even worse when I'm sleep deprived or had a bazillion icees.

3. Something that makes me sad is when I get that feeling that people don't get me. It's something I worry about all the time.

4. Something that makes me annoyed is Florida and Missouri drivers...they just don't know how, people who talk down to me and try to belittle me, that I'm a frustrated crier...just to name a few.

5. A time that I've been truly surprised when I got into grad school.

6. I am so thankful for my family and friends. I know it's a generic answer, but I am truly nothing without them.

7. I feel loved when I get off the phone with my family and friends from back home. They love me despite my flaws.

Friday, December 10, 2010

It's that time of the week again...

1. I wish I had a puppy. I miss my doggy, but it wouldn't be fair to the dog if I got one at the moment. I'm not in my apartment enough to give it all the love it needs and deserves.

2. Yesterday was my Friday. I treated to myself to a filet mignon, spent oodles of money at Barnes and Noble, and went and saw a movie with my friends from work. It was pretty great.

3. Today I am having a lazy day. Now that my semester is over, I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.

4. Tomorrow I will go get sushi for lunch with friends, return something at the mall, go grocery shopping, make gingerbread, and go to a Christmas party.

5. Maybe if we have time I'll get finish up my Christmas cards, if you want one email me your address.

6. Someday I will love myself for who I am.

7. I love knowing that I'll be going back home to Georgia in a week. I'm so ready to spend the holidays with all the people I love.

Make sure you link up with Lauren's Blog if you want to play along...come on, you know you want to.

Fill in the Blank Friday!!!

1. Holiday spirit puts a little glowing light in my heart. I love the warm fuzzies I get this time of year. It's not only the receiving of presents that makes me happy (because I'd be lying if I said that they didn't), but I love seeing the looks on people's faces when I give them something. I also love all the family and friend time. And I absolutely love when things like this happen.

2. The holidays are incomplete without moving the mouse on the advent calendar, having my dad move the letters on Noel around to make it spell Leon instead, watching Love Actually with Mama, having my annual Christmas party with Paw-Paw, doing something crafty with Smoochie, and singing Christmas Carols off key and very loudly.

3. My favorite things to do around the holidays is making presents and wrapping them. I love to wrap gifts. I also love all the time I get to spend with Mama and Daddy O.

4. A holiday tradition my family and I have is ...well there are a lot of traditions. I love that my grandparents come over to open presents with us on Christmas morning and to have our once-a-year special breakfast. I also love the Christmas party where it just my Paw-Paw and me.

5. Holiday music is awesome, as long as I don't get an overload of it.

6. This year, I'll be celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve, since Daddy O has to work. He's working so some of the younger parents can be with their young children on Christmas day.

7. Holiday wish list Tons of stuff...mostly from Etsy. And a leather jacket from Fossil...I doubt that one is going to happen.

If you play along make sure you link up with Lauren's blog. Oh and PS...I made a button! I'm kind of proud of myself since I'm basically illiterate when it comes to stuff like that.

Fill in the Blank Friday - Thanksgiving Edition

1. My Thanksgiving plans this year will include eating tons of food, all diets are off. I'm really excited to go to my aunt's house on the lake and hanging out with family.

2. My favorite Thanksgiving was...this is a tough one. I kind of liked last year's because everyone was together. I'm sad that my Daddy O has to work this Thanksgiving and my cousin and his new wife won't be able to fly home for it.

3. My signature Thanksgiving dish is ...I don't make any, I'm just the taste tester. I think this year, my Mama is going to let me help with the family guarded gravy. Seriously, no one knows the recipe except for a couple of family members.

4. My favorite Thanksgiving food is the yummy dressing. For ya'll that don't know, it's totally better than stuffing.

5. Thanksgiving free association! Colin, Macys parade, Santa (I know him!), the lake, turkey, dressing, wars over the last piece of jellied cranberry sauce...

6. Thansgiving is one of my favorite times to be with my family. I love the hint of fall in the air. It officially marks the beginning of the holiday season and means that I get to spend even more time with my family :)

7. I am thankful for my family and friends. Without them I would be nothing. They help me be a better me and accept me for who I am. Thank you to each and every one of you. I love ya'll.

If ya'll want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog. PS: Sorry for the lack of posts...it's been super busy and it's just no fun not having a camera.

It's the most wonderful time of the week...

So it's been a while...homework and work has me swamped, but everyone has a little time for FILL IN THE BLANK FRIDAY! If you want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog.

1. The most spontaneous thing I've ever done is when I decided to apply to grad school in St Louis. I know, it should be something with adventure, but I just applied thinking I wouldn't get it. Look at me now.

2. The best gift I've ever received was a picture collage that my Paw-Paw made for me. It's the only gift that has ever made me cry.

3. A time that I was truly and genuinely surprised was when I had the revelation that I can't fix everything. Not a fun suprise, but it was one of those light bulb moments.

4. I can't leave the house without my drivers license and insurance card...I feel like they must be on me at all times.

5. My favorite day of the week is Monday because that's usually when I have a little free time to relax before my 4 pm class. Lately, I've been thinking Friday.

6. Something that can always make me laugh is thinking about my family and friends and all the gooberish times we've had together.

7. My perfect day would include sleeping in and not having a single drop of homework to do. It'd also involve spending time with my friends and snuggling up with a book.

Friday, October 8, 2010

Happy Friday!

1. The first thing I do in the morning to start my day is turn of the alarm clock then run to my phone to turn off its alarm. I always set two alarms because I'm paranoid like that.

2. Today I wish I was staying home to work on this homework. Seriously, I know I've been complaining a lot lately, but I've got two papers, two presentations and over 500 pages to read for one class.

3. If I had an extra $100 in my bank account I would go to Goodwill and have fun. I'd also go to Vintage Vinyl and get some records I've had my eye on.

4. Tomorrow I will be doing homework. Yuck. But I'm taking an hour out of the day to go to Goodwill. I may not have an extra $100 to spend, but I can make $20 stretch...right?

5. Two things that don't go together is being sleepy and trying to read theory. It equals an instant nap, no matter what.

6. Something I can never pass up at the grocery store is going down the book and magazine aisle. I may not always buy something, but I do spend a good five to ten minutes looking at everything.

7. The last time I tried something new was when I tried Winsor Pilates this week. I think I'm in love.

Make sure you go and link up with Lauren's blog if you play along. I hope ya'll have a Happy Friday!!

Fill in the blank Friday!!!!

1. When I get a day to myself usually, I find a really good book and just sit and read. Sometimes I do some cleaning. No matter what I do though, it's always nice knowing that there is no pressure to do anything.

2. High school was.... good for me. I had a close knit group of friends that I loved. I still keep in touch with the majority of them. I worried a lot about whether people liked me and if I was fat...I look back at pictures from then and want to kick myself.

3. A little dream I have is to travel. I would love to pick up and go anywhere at anytime. I wish I was a free spirit like that, but I'm not.

4. A big dream I have is to have a love family and a house with an amazing library. Floor to ceiling with ladders and everything.

5. If I could drive any car I can't decide! I've got racing in my blood, so it needs to be fast and pretty. I've always wanted an old Bug that I can paint on and make it look happy.

6. A time that I felt really and truly beautiful hmmm...I'll have to think about this one and let ya'll know.

7. Tomorrow I will.... be doing homework. Yuck.

If you want to play along, make sure you link up with Lauren's blog! Have a Happy Friday!
