Obsessed

So I get a little obsessed with things...at the moment, it's good songs. Well, I guess that's all subjective, but here are the current songs I'm obsessed with.

Kanye and JayZ dropped "Otis" some time in the recent past. But all I could think about is the original song "Try A Little Tenderness" and Duckie.

Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse. This song is beautiful.

Sail by AWOLNATION.

I am not a Beyonce fan, but I can't get enough of this song. I think it's because she's actually singing and not screaming. And the beat is so fun.

"The Next Episode" it's the radio edit, but it's not entirely clean. My friend, Kristina, and I have recently rediscovered this song. For some reason I'm always humming this or the Sanford and Sons theme song.

I resisted "Moves Like Jagger" for a very long time. It wasn't until this past week when the volunteers at work got it stuck in my head that I finally accepted it.

I know they're not all new, or the best things ever...but they're all pretty much on rotation in my head. I'm always looking for good music. Any suggestions?

Everything Old is New Again...

My love for Panic at the Disco was strong, way back when, when they had an exclamation point in their name. I've seen them three times in concert, but the last time, I kind of broke up with them. I decided that there were way too many kids there (a sign that I'm getting old) and their music wasn't like it used to be. The next thing I new, instead of going back for a new album, they all went separate ways...yet somehow PATD still survived (kind of what Paramore is going through now). Flash forward to now. PATD has a new video out and I'm kind of obsessed with it. Yes, it's morbid, but I love the steampunkishness of it. And yes, I may have made the word steampunkishness up. Anyways, for your viewing pleasure, here is Panic at the Disco's new song "The Ballad of Mona Lisa".

Mushy Songs...

So it's almost Valentine's Day and I feel like it's the one day of the year that I can listen to mushy songs and not feel guilty about it. Okay, I do listen to mushy songs all the time, but that's just a secret between you and me. Anywho, this is my Valentine's Day playlist...

Michael Buble -- Just Haven't Met You Yet

Taylor Swift -- Love Story

Muse -- Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You

Taylor Swift -- Enchanted

Matt Nathanson -- Bent/Such Great Heights

Eric Clapton -- Wonderful Tonight

Ewan McGregor -- Your Song (yes, I'm well aware it was sung by Sir Elton John first)

Foo Fighters -- Everlong

Boys Like Girls -- Hero/Heroine

Cheap Trick -- I Want You To Want Me

Iron & Wine -- Flightless Bird, American Mouth (my ultimate sappy song, despite what the lyrics really mean)

What is on your Valentine's playlist?

The Black Crowes -- She Talks to Angels

Paramore -- Brick by Boring Brick (I still love this song to pieces)

Taylor Swift -- Long Live

Death Cab For Cute -- I'll Follow You Into the Dark

Muse -- United States of Eurasia

What's on your Saturday playlist?
