Guest post by the lovely Kaycie

Hello readers of Elysie Piecie’s Peace of Mind! I’m Kaycie and I blog over at Redhead Memories.

My blog name says it all: I’m a carrot top that loves clinging to memories and making them! So, since the final Harry Potter movie just came out, I thought I’d show you some of my adventures with the series.

This is my husband, Scott and I dressing up on Halloween. Ginny and Harry, anyone? It was a good thing we dressed this simply because it turns out that no one in college really dresses up…

My mom and I made this cake for the premiere of the sixth movie. It even had glittery dust all over! Unfortunately there was neither a horcrux nor a resurrection stone inside.

And this is what I sported for the final movie. I went to a 20-hour marathon to celebrate it all so I had to be comfortable. Otherwise, I would have totally decked out in Hogwarts gear. But of course, I had my wand just in case.

It’s sad that the movies and books have come to a close, but there’s no doubt that these books will still remain popular. I can’t wait to share them with my own kids and to have marathons and dress-up parties with them someday.

Thanks so much for reading and thanks to Elyse for letting me visit!

90s Nostalgia...

I first found these videos over at the lovely Vanessa's blog and thought they were just too awesome not to share. Watching them was like reliving my childhood. How come TV can't be as good as it used to? I mean come on...what happened to TGIF? Enjoy this little blast from the past my friends.

Elyse, killer of fish

Before ya'll wig out on me about the title of this post, let me explain. I have the best dentist in the world. They play movies while you're in the waiting room. This time around for my biannual visit, they were playing Finding Nemo. I hadn't seen this movie in a while and cracked up when Gil says

"All drains lead to the ocean"

and Nemo decides to get himself flushed.

Why might I find this line unusually funny? When I was little I had this goldfish who passed away at an unfortunate time. Poor little Flounder was floating upside down in his bowl and my Mama informed me that we were sending him back home to be with his family in the ocean. My Mama ceremoniously put Flounder in the toilet and flushed him down.

A couple of years down the road I decided to go on a crusade a to win fish at carnivals, fall festivals, etc., and send those poor fishies back to their families. Well how was Little Elyse supposed to release these poor creatures back home when I lived 3 hours away to the closest beach? That's right people, my name is Elyse and I am the killer of fish. It wasn't until later that I realized that these poor, innocent fish did not end up going back to the ocean, but rather the septic tank in my backyard.

There's No Place Like Home

Sorry I've MIA for a while. On the first of July I returned to my home land, aka the wonderful Peach state. I'm so excited to be home until the second week of August, but I'm already getting anxious that I'm not going to have enough time to do everything that I want to do. I do not like being home on a time limit. It just doesn't seem fair. But enough whining and complaining. I've decided to make a bucket list of what I want to do before I leave to start my second and final year of grad school. PS: I'm leaving on vacation not this Saturday, but the next. If you want a postcard email me at elysiepiecie{at}gmail.com.

Go to a laser show at Stone Mountain.

Get together with the lovely Jenn and go see Winnie the Pooh. Don't judge.

Drink as many Coke icees from Racetrac as is humanly possible.

Go to the lake and see my Aunt Patti and Uncle Jim for the day.

Read as many fun books as possible before I have to start reading the serious stuff for school.

Go to the Jersey Shore.

Not get sunburnt (I'm unusually pale for this time of year).

Not gain a bazillion lbs back (and actually lose some) while being at home.

Go to a Braves game.

See Harry Potter a bazillion times.

Go take pictures of "Mystic Falls" so I can show ya'll have close I actually live to it.

I'm trying my best to get together with all my friends and family before I leave, but for if I don't get to see you this time let me go ahead an apologize. I'm trying to spend as much time with my Mumsie Dearest and Daddy O as possible. I'll post as to why later, but I just feel like it needs to be done.

Well it's not much of a bucket list, but if ya'll think of something I should add, just let me know. And don't forget if you want a postcard send me your address or if I already have it, just leave a comment :D
