"I'll Make You a Mixtape That's a Blueprint of my Soul"

For this post, I was inspired by Meghan's Theme song post and Jamie Cullum's "Mixtape". One night in bed, I was looking at the ceiling thinking about what a mixtape to my soul would be like. So here's a short list of what I've come up with...

"All at Sea" by Jamie Cullum: "Don't speak to nobody, I gave away my phone...Like a warm drink it seeps into my soul, Please just leave me right here on my own, Later on you could spend some time with me. If you want to, All at sea." Sometimes I just like being that antisocial person. Turning off my phone, not getting on the Internet for a couple of days...just having time to me, myself, and I.

"Don't Stop Believing" by Journey: I know it's a pretty cliched song, especially since Glee covered it (not dissing Glee, I love the show, but half our generation knows the song solely because of this show), but this song has always been there for me. There was a period of about three months that every time I turned on my car, this song would be playing. I took it as a sign...I had to not stop believing. Stop believing in what? I have no idea, whether it was my faith, or believing that I'll eventually find my other half...who knows. But, I do know that I won't stop believing.

Basically any Muse song out there makes the list...just in case you didn't know. I can find a Muse song to fit any mood of mine. However, Butterflies and Hurricanes is a favorite. I'm not going to change everything I am, but I do have to be the best. Not the best at everything, just my personal best version of me.

"Hot 'n Cold" by Katy Perry: So I'm neither hot nor cold, yes or no, in or out, up or down...but I have had some pretty daggum memories associated with this song.

"Golden Years" by David Bowie: This song makes me feel invincible when I hear it, because "Nothing's gonna touch me in these golden years." It's pretty much been associated with me, since I performed the dance that goes along with this song from "A Knight's Tale".

"Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble: Whenever I get down about being the perpetual dateless/single girl...I listen to this song. I just haven't met him yet.

I know I've left off some crucial songs on the A side of my mixtape, but I decided to save those for another day. So until next time, what songs would make it on your mixtape?

Good friends, good times

This post is dedicated to the wonderful Jessica. We've been friends, since our parents tag teamed us and made us hang out together after basketball practices. She'll probably kill me for this one, but this is the two of us during our more innocent times ;) We got dressed up in a way that we called "getting freaky" and danced around to Smashing Pumpkin's Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Please love that I had to take a picture of a picture because my scanner is acting odd.

Anyways, this past weekend I went down to Savannah to visit her and her husband, Anthony. Here's a more recent picture that Jess probably would approve of more...

Dude and Sweet, Angelmonkey and Devilmonkey, Dips**t and Supers**t (the loving nicknames bequeathed to us by my mom)...and the list could go on and on.

Lest Anthony feels left out...here he is looking like "The Thinker" while waiting for Vinny Van Go-Gos

We've been through a lot together. Her groundings (where we had to communicate through letters), going to different colleges, and now living on opposite ends of the states. Despite it all, she's always been there for me, and is one of my dearest friends. I love that when we see each other, we pick right back up where we left off. Wow, this is turning sappy, so this is where this post officially ends.

Happiness

Life has been a little hectic lately, but I have a lot of things to be happy about. I have wonderful friends who love me. My family and I have been getting to spend a lot of time together lately. Yay, for Waffle House dates with my Daddy O. And this past weekend, was the marriage of my cousin Jason to his lovely new wife Sarah. Congratulations! I am so blessed to have a wonderful new cousin in my life.

The wedding was in beautiful Augusta, which sits on the Savannah River. It's one of my favorite places in Georgia. The Cherry trees were blooming...spring is in the air :)

Another thing to be happy about is...

THE ECLIPSE TRAILER! YAY! It's about daggum time. I cannot wait until June 30th.
